Fallen officers: Separated by thousands of miles, united by similar dangers

Attacks thousands of miles apart, under different circumstances, have left 19 law enforcement officers dead nationwide this year. The latest addition to this grim tally was the slaying of Officer Sean Bolton, who was shot multiple times over the weekend by a passenger in a car during a traffic stop in Memphis, Tennessee.

The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund issued their yearly report stating 64 officers have been killed in the line of duty during the first half of 2015.

Sixty-four law enforcement officers have died on the job from January to June 2015, a 3 percent increase compared with the same period last year, according to a new report.
